AD9833 DDS Signal Generator Module DC SPI Square Triangle Sine Wave Output

    product detail

AD9833 DDS Signal Generator Module DC 0-12.5MHZ SPI Square Triangle Sine Wave Serial Interface Programmable Frequency and Phase GY-AD9833

The AD9833 is a low power, programmable waveform generator that produces sine, triangle, and square wave outputs. Waveform generators are required for various types of detection, signal excitation, and time domain reflectometry (TDR) applications. The output frequency and phase can be programmed via software for easy adjustment. No external components are required. The frequency register is 28 bits: a resolution of 0.1 Hz can be achieved at a clock rate of 25 MHz, and a resolution of 0.004 Hz at a clock rate of 1 MHz. The AD9833 writes data through a three-wire serial interface. The serial interface operates at clock rates up to 40 MHz and is compatible with DSP and microcontroller standards. The device operates from a 2.3 V to 5.5 V supply. The AD9833 has a power saving function. This feature allows power to be minimized by shutting down unused parts of the device. For example, the DAC can be turned off when the clock output is generated.

    Parameter Performance:
    • Digitally programmable frequency and phase

    • Power consumption: 12.65 mW (at 3 V)

    • Output frequency range: 0 MHz to 12.5 MHz

    • 28-bit resolution: 0.1 Hz (25 MHz reference clock)

    • Sine wave / triangle wave / square wave output

    • 2.3 V to 5.5 V power supply

    • No external components required

    • 3-wire SPI interface

    • Extended temperature range: -40°C to +105°C

    • Power saving option

    • Update rate: 25MSPS

    • Maximum output voltage: 0.65V

    • Minimum output voltage: 38mV

The MCU needs to send frequency and waveform data to the A D9833 and send amplitude data to the MCP41010 digital potentiometer. The AD9833 and MCP41010 use a common data port and clock port, but with their own chip selects. This only requires 4 I/Os of the microcontroller. The AD9850 high-speed operational amplifier amplifies the output signal by 5 times. The module separates the original signal VOUT of the AD9833 and the amplified signal PGA for convenient use by the customer.
